Thinking·Innovation
The exhibition, with the theme of “Thinking(Gewu)·Innovation(Kaixin)”, is dedicated to contemplating and exploring contemporary art based on Eastern aesthetic traditions. The term “Ge Wu” first appeares in the “The Book of Rites: The Great Learning”, which states that “seeking essence from observing objects”. For artists, it is to create spiritual resonance through the description of the surface of objects, endowing spiritual expression in artistic works, and achieving an artistic effect that combines form and spirit. This is the unique temperament of Eastern art under the influence of Eastern philosophy. And “Kaixin” corresponds to the contemporary and innovative nature of Eastern contemporary art that this exhibition focuses on. The exhibition not only continues traditional creative methods by artists, but also showcases their thoughts and explorations on the "innovation" of contemporary art - constantly integrating art from China and the West, innovating and renovating in the context of globalization, opening a window to observe everything and seek knowledge from each other, standing on the internal structure of Eastern culture, without relying on Western culture to appear on the stage, and examining and studying the development direction of Eastern contemporary art from a new perspective of "me".
