作名词用的 produce 统指一切农产物,天然产物,或工业产物。这是一个永远保持单数的集合名词，不可以说a produce，也不可以说 produces。

product 是普通名词，前可加冠词 a，字尾又可加复数的 -s，例如， finished products(成品）， sea products （海产品），literary products （文艺作品）。

03production
production(生产)是与 consumption(消费)对称的。工厂最新的出品就说 the newest production of the factories。此字主要是表示生产的动作(act)，由心身的劳动而产生的东西。
a production 是一件(文学或艺术的)作品，productions 则为多件那样的作品。如 a production of genius(天才的作品)及the artist's early productions(那艺术家早期的作品)。说the literary products of the age 和 the literary productions of the age 都是通的,前者把 products 用在譬喻里,把作品看作产品。
The mass production is made in this factory in July.
(七月这个工厂进行了大规模生产)
The works is one of the highest productions for history.
(这部作品是最高级的历史作品之一。)
