start这个单词，既是名词又是动词。它是名词的时候，含义有开始、启动、震惊等。当它是动词时，是及物动词，也是不及物动词，有时也做系动词，后加形容词作表语。含义是开始、动身、出发、震惊等。
它当动词的基本用法:
1.start sth.
My sister must start her work.
The young boss wants to start his own bussiness.
2.start to do sth.
The lovely boy starts to jump up and down.
My classmates start to do their homeworks.
3.start doing sth.
I start reading the storybook for the little baby.
He starts writing a letter in the bedroom.

注意：start是瞬间动词，不能与表示段的时间状语连用。如:不能与for two days, for three hours, since...等连用。此句错误: Sally starts to do homework for two days.
start表示“动身”时，一般用现在时表将来。如: She starts at three o'clock tomorrow.
