A: Hey Sam, you know my birthday’s coming up. I’m thinking you can get me a new handbag.
嘿Sam，我的生日快到了。我在想你可以给我一个新包包。
B: You know, the weather is really nice today. It’s finally sunny!
哇，今天的天气真好，终于放晴了！
A: Don’t avoid the topic! We’re getting off trackhere! So, when are you gonna take me handbag shopping?
别逃避话题！我们偏题了哈！ 那你啥时候带我去买包呢？
在上述对话中，有一句非常实用的短语，叫 “get off track”， 表示偏离轨道了，也就是不在主题上了。接下来我们来学习几种类似的表达：
get off track 偏离轨道（引申为偏题了）go off topic 偏离主题了not germane to something 与……无关具体怎么用呢？我们来看几个例子：
It’s really easy to get off track during meetings especially if no one is moderating.开会的时候很容易跑题，尤其是没人主持大局的时候。
My professor gave me a bad grade on my paper because he said most of my citations were not germane to the topic.我的教授给我的论文打了一个很差的分数，因为他说我的大部分引用都与主题无关。
