usher in 迎接、开创。不少人一下子看不明白这习语的含义，主要在于不太了解usher是什么。其实是指人，即引座员、引导者之类，相当于doorkeeper, 英文解释是a person who leads people to their seats in a theatre, at a wedding, etc。这就容易懂了。例如：He did part-time work as an usher in a theatre.他在一家剧院作兼职引座员。
