The 2025 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Lantern Carnival ("GBA Lantern Carnival") will make its debut in Guangzhou Nansha Bay on January 22nd, with a 68-day exhibition period running until March 30th. This is the largest-scale lantern carnival in the history of the GBA, featuring 218 sets of lantern scenes and over 10,000 colorful lanterns, creating a dazzling display that combines Chinese flavor, Lingnan style, and international flair.
Themed "Illuminating China, Enchanting the Bay Area," the carnival integrates two intangible cultural heritage projects: the Chinese Spring Festival and the Zigong Lantern Festival. Utilizing modern lighting technology, it vividly showcases the innovative and cooperative spirit of the GBA. The carnival covers an area of 870 mu, spanning the Puzhou Garden, Tianhou Palace scenic area, and Binhai Park, with a main tour route exceeding 3 kilometers. Over 1,000 intangible cultural heritage craftsmen have crafted this event, Linking five major themed areas: "Celebrating the New Spring," "Bay Area Panorama," "Maritime Silk Road," "Millennium Trading Port," and "Trendy Playground." the "Celebrating the New Spring" area highlights traditional New Year flavors and Lingnan characteristics, The "Millennium Trading Port" area incorporates intangible cultural heritage, cuisine, and folk culture, while the "Trendy Playground" creates a trendy world beloved by young people in a cyberpunk style.
The organizers have also designed more than 50 interactive lantern sets, offering immersive experiences for all age groups. These sets cover a variety of themes, including traditional culture, Trendy memes, and cartoon games. The lion dance lantern set combines modern technology with a cyber style, The "Monkey King" lantern set creates interactive experiences based on the "Wukong craze," The "Come and Sing" lantern set performs Cantonese classics through the character of Egg Waffle, and the "Truth or Dare" lantern set brings a magical adventure for children.
In addition, The carnival features nine major performance stages and thousands of special activities, including traditional performances such as Cantonese opera, martial arts, and floating colors parades, as well as innovative projects like sea cruises around Nansha and aerial plane shows. From the first to the eighth day of the Lunar New Year, Themed parades will showcase folk performances like the Yingge dance, dragon dance, and lion dance, adding a festive atmosphere to the holiday.

2025年大湾区“超级灯会”，1月22日广州南沙亮灯
2025年粤港澳大湾区灯会（简称“大湾区灯会”）将于1月22日亮相广州南沙湾，展期68天至3月30日。这场大湾区史上规模最大的灯会将汇聚218组灯景、超10000盏彩灯，打造一场集中国味、岭南风与国际范于一体的彩灯盛宴。
灯会以“光耀神州 华彩湾区”为主题，结合中国春节与自贡灯会两大非遗项目，采用现代光影科技，生动展示大湾区的创新精神和开放合作面貌。灯会占地870亩，横跨蒲洲花园、天后宫景区和滨海公园，主游线路超过3公里，由1000多名非遗工匠倾力打造，串联“贺岁新春”“湾区画卷”“海上丝路”“千年商都”“潮玩乐园”五大主题园区。其中，“贺岁新春”园区突出传统年味和岭南特色，“千年商都”园区融入非遗、美食与民俗文化，“潮玩乐园”则以赛博朋克风格塑造年轻人钟爱的潮流世界。
主办方还设计了50多个互动灯组，为各年龄层群众提供沉浸体验。灯组涵盖传统文化、潮流热梗、卡通游戏等多种主题。其中，醒狮大门灯组结合现代科技与赛博风格，《齐天大圣》灯组结合“悟空热”打造互动体验，《来K歌》灯组通过鸡蛋仔IP演绎粤语金曲，《真心话大冒险》灯组则为儿童带来奇幻乐园冒险。
此外，灯会配套九大演艺舞台、千场特色活动，涵盖粤剧、武术、飘色等传统表演，还推出海上游南沙、空中飞机表演等创新项目。正月初一至初八的主题巡演将集中展示英歌、舞龙、舞狮等民俗表演，为节日增添喜庆氛围。
